In this course, learners who have previously mastered CVC words with all five vowels will have the chance to read stories about their favorite princesses as Rapunzel guides them through new concepts and rules encountered in intermediate phonics. In each class, we will take turns reading one of 12 books that features new letter blends, diagraphs, and long vowels. First, we will learn the language rules of the day and work through these concepts using several examples found in the book being covered. These rules can include letter blends such as ck, sh, th, sc, sk, st, etc., double consonants and vowels, or the soft c and soft g for example. Next, we will take turns reading, making sure to highlight the new concepts introduced at the beginning of class. Finally, we will finish by singing a Disney princess song chosen by the learners! This fun Princess class is sure to have your learner advancing their reading skills with enthusiasm. Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Ms. Autumn. Thank you for stopping by my profile! I am looking forward to meeting your little learner soon. I teach preschool and kindergarten aged courses. I have been teaching this age group in online and in-person settings for 6 years. I love to help my students learn proper vocal technique and conditioning using warm-ups that broaden the range and tonal quality. During private voice lessons, we will also practice pitch matching and lyric guessing games while having fun! I have a Bachelor of Arts from North Carolina State University with a major in Developmental Psychology.
I believe my teaching style to be very engaging, encouraging, and enthusiastic. I love bringing smiles to my students' faces during class and helping them to feel pride in their accomplishments. This is why I regularly throw out Hatchimals toys as rewards for doing a great job singing!
In my experience teaching, I have seen how music and singing helps children retain information, as well as create a positive and joyful experience. As a professional singer in Las Vegas and Macau, China for six years, I would describe my style of teaching as “edu-taining”. A fun fact about me is that sometimes I like to teach classes from my class A motor home while my family and I travel all over the country! I hope to see your little ones in my classroom soon!
