Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will develop confidence in their spoken English as a result of their written language construction and practice and immersion in the English instruction.
Ms. Shiren has taught young people and adults English as a Second/Foreign Language, from conversational classes to grammar and writing classes. She teaches both ESL/EFL learners and native English speakers how to write and improve their communication. She also teaches French and Spanish and understands what it takes to learn and write a new language - including confidence, which can be one of the most important parts! Ms. Shiren's current following of both EFL/ESL and native English students continue to see improvements in their English language skills and writing ability.

Ms. Shiren has also worked as a copyeditor and freelance journalist. As a graduate of the University of Toronto, she understands the importance of a clear and impactful essay and can guide young learners through this process.
Learners intending to return to future lessons are encouraged to bring sentences that they've worked on back to class for feedback.
Learners should have a dedicated notebook for writing in class and taking notes during discussions.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners are assessed informally throughout the class.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
