This is an ongoing sight word class, that meets once a week. Each week 9 new words will be taught for 6 weeks. After 6 weeks, the word list will start over. When a child quickly and confidently can read the most high frequency sight words, their reading skills will greatly improve! Learners will practice high frequency sight words. These words are found in almost every book and often do not follow common spelling patterns. They often need to be memorized. This class will help with recognizing the word, spelling and writing it. Reading, writing and spelling these words will help your leaner do this. Adding in the game of BINGO will help make this process FUN!
I am a licensed elementary school teacher with a a master's degree in the Art of Teaching. I was a full-time kindergarten teacher before fully teaching online. This is just an ongoing version of my popular one-time class, that I have taught on Outschool. Feel free to see that class for reviews.
1 file available upon enrollmentA one-page blank BINGO printout will be provided. You will need a pen/pencil. Something is needed to cover/uncover words for BINGO. For example: small paper circles, coins, counters, pieces of candy... really anything will work. I would not cross off the words, so that we can play multiple rounds.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Learners should be familiar with how to play BINGO.
