1 hour per week. Each week, I will provide practice for learners to complete. The length and complexity of the questions will depend on the topic of the week. Tasks should take less than an hour each week and these are optional assignments. Learners have the option to submit the assignment back to me for formal feedback.Class Experience

This is an ongoing course! You may subscribe and resubscribe as you best see fit for the needs of your learner. If you wish for a certain topic to be covered that is not on the upcoming list, please send me a message! The goal of this ongoing class is for learners to improve their formal essay writing skills. Each week, we will overview a new essay writing topic. I will provide formal definitions and examples. We will talk about this as a class in a fun, engaging way. Then, learners will be provided prompts to practice the skills they have learned. This class is best for learners in middle school and high school who are learning to write 5-paragraph essays for test preparation. Learning Goals
Learners will be able to practice and perfect their formal, academic writing skills--both informative and argumentative. This will allow learners to build confidence as they write essays in English class.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
During some of the classes (not each time), a third-party tool may be used. For example, YouTube videos might be shown via screen share. During some classes, Kahoot might be utilized. Students will be encouraged to participate in the game, but they will not need to create an account.
Supply List
I will provide most of the materials and note-taking pages. Learners are encouraged to print out the guided notes pages prior to the start of the lesson. If not, learners will be encouraged to take notes on a separate note page.

During certain topics, we will refer to the MLA Format handbook. MLA format is the most common format for learners writing essays in middle and high school.
On some topic days, learners will be asked to participate in a Kahoot. Learners do not need to create an account to participate in the game.
Youtube will be used during some classes as well. I will share my screen to play the video.
