US Grade 1 - 4
This is a private class designed for individualized tutoring for one learner within the Montessori math strands. **Language Arts: Phonics, Reading Fluency, Spelling, Writing may be added if desired. Learners will need to have on hand their own manipulatives: golden bead material, stamp game, small and large bead frames, fraction materials, geometric cabinet, checkerboard, snake game, charts for addition/subtraction/multiplication/division, and bead stair / decanomial box. Parent will request which specific activities they want stressed, but individual tutoring will "follow the child" in regards to introduction of learner appropriate materials to teach the mathematic concepts in a logical progression. Learners will supplement the 1:1 class time with work outside of class in order to master the concepts in: - addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division facts, - moving from concrete to abstract in the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division, - linear counting work, - understanding the equivalencies of fractions, - and geometric terminology. **I message in the classroom on Sundays which materials and topics will be covered in the week's lesson. I also upload any printouts needed there. Ongoing classes will be learner centric and will follow this general outline for first grade learners: Week of July 26 - Operations work in addition & Fraction introduction Week of August 2 - Operations work in subtraction & Facts work in addition Week of August 9 - Geometry work & Linear counting work Week of August 16 - Operations work in multiplication & Facts work in subtraction
