Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 6
In this class we will be drilling drilling drilling math Division facts until mastery is accomplished. This class is set up as an Ongoing class for a reason. Division is not like multiplication in the sense that it can be memorized and move on. Although division can be memorized, students need to find the connection between division and multiplication. This is a skill that doesn't always come easy to many students, therefore more time, effort, patience, and grace needs to be extended to your learner. Just because we know something doesn't mean we know it forward and backwards by default. Take for example the Alphabet. Not everyone can say the Alphabet backwards even though we have been singing our ABC since pre-school. The same concept can be applied to division. This is exactly why I created this Ongoing class. This class will be targeting several division facts per session in order to ensure mastery and association with multiplication.

We will have instruction time for tricks and tips and later moving on to using flashcards in a very fun, silly, and interactive ways. I will also be teaching them different tricks to help eliminate those hard to remember facts most people seem to struggle with. Students will be expected to help one another during our class as a way to support one another and create a safe and happy environment for mistakes to occur in a positive constructive way. Classes are kept small which allows me to personalize it to each student and helps me address each individual struggle. This has proven to be very successful in our class and has given my students some noticeable and positive results.

Come join us. Lets have multiples of fun!

PREREQUISITES :This course is designed for students who are just starting to learn division and we will be focusing on the division of whole numbers only straight from the Math Fact tables. (for example: 30 ÷ 5 = 6).
Students should know their addition and multiplication facts very well. If the students know their addition and multiplication well, than they are already setup to succeed in this class. If this is not the case, and the student still struggles with multiplication and addition, than this class could be too advanced and could accidentally run the risk of discouraging your learner. Please please please make sure your student is solid or close to it on his multiplication facts before presenting them with division.
If you think your child could use some more help with his/her multiplication facts, I would be honored to help them master those in one of my Multiplication Facts courses offered. :)

*ONGOING CLASS EXPLAINED: These classes are subscription based, which means you will be charged for the class fee on a weekly basis. This class will keep going 3 times a week. The course contains 12 lessons, and we will start from the beginning when lesson 12 ends. Students are welcome to join at any time.

PREREQUISITES: This is not an introduction to multiplication, rather, we focus on learning for retention/memorization, speed, and relationship between them. Students should know how to add and subtract well prior to taking a multiplication class.
However, I don’t discourage young learners from jumping in and testing the class as they always get something out of the class and could set them up for success in the near future. Many young learners have surprised me.

Hope to see your little one inside! :)

Learning Goals

Hello!

I’m thrilled to have you here! My name is Mrs. Dayanis, and I’m the proud mom of two wonderful little girls. Fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, I’ve developed a deep passion for studying and teaching languages over the years. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida and bring over 12 years of experience in the dental field.

After my first daughter was born, I felt a strong calling to homeschooling, and it’s been a rewarding journey ever since. With 7 years of experience as a homeschool mom and teacher within our community, I’ve discovered a profound love for teaching that I never anticipated. I’ve had the joy of teaching a wide array of subjects, including History, Science, Language Arts, Math, Latin, Geography, Spanish, Art, and Music Appreciation. The more I explore these subjects with my children, the more eager I am to learn and share knowledge with young learners.

In my classroom, safety is my top priority. You might wonder, “Safety?” Yes, indeed! I aim to create an environment where students feel secure, allowing them to be themselves without fear of judgment or criticism when facing challenges. Building self-esteem is crucial to the learning process, and I believe fostering a student’s confidence is essential for their success. That’s why I keep my classes small—to be attentive to each student and connect the material with positive experiences, making learning enjoyable.

I particularly enjoy teaching subjects like Math, especially multiplication. There’s something incredibly satisfying about helping students uncover the patterns and possibilities within numbers. Seeing their excitement grow as they master multiplication and realize its power is truly rewarding. It would be a privilege to guide you and your family through this journey, making math both enjoyable and engaging. I believe that learning math should be a fun experience because discovering the beauty of numbers is an exciting adventure, and sharing that enthusiasm with young learners is a wonderful opportunity..

I look forward to meeting you and your child!

Mrs. Dayanis
