In this ongoing class, students will debate each other in small groups. Students will provide a positive argument for and against the topic by using critical thinking skills. In addition, we will be developing our social skills.
Class experience
This is an ongoing class where students can create teams with familiar students to enhance their debate skills. Each class will compound on each of the previous classes. Students will learn to give persuasive arguments for and against a specific topic. Students will form pairs or small group that may change from week to week depending on the stance of the student. * Students will be able to use their imagination and create an argument for what they believe in. * Students will be able to correctly grammar techniques in public speaking. * Students will broaden their sentence structures into more complex and compound sentences. * Students will be able to effectively take one class or multiple classes. * Students will have fun and guide the course. The teacher is a facilitator. * Students will be able to have open and respectful discussion.
Homework Offered
Students will be given the topic a week before class. All students are expected to do some research prior to class. Students should have their personal stance figured out but should be prepared to argue the opposite, as well.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
