Students will know the short vowels CVC words and be able to read them in and out of context.
Students will know the long vowels v-e words and be able to read them in and out of context.
Students will use word parts (glued sounds) to separate words into chunks to help them read fluently.
Students will be able to read and write sight words.
Students will know the difference between closed syllable types and v-e syllable types.
Students will improve their phonemic awareness and phonics skills.
Practice skills taught in class to help solidify learning. (Approximately 10 minutes per night)
Printables from the classroom for each class.
I highly encourage parents to purchase a Wilson magnet board for your child. The link is below. Your child can participate without it, but their experience will be much better if they have the board to manipulate sounds and words.

OPTION 1 is the magnet board and magnetic letters.

https://store.wilsonlanguage.com/magnetic-letter-tiles-2-just-words/ (MAGNETIC LETTERS)

OPTION 2 is to buy the kit which is linked below. It contains the magnet board as well as other materials.
1 hour 10 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Scissors may be used during this course. Students will need to know how to properly hold and use scissors. Scissor supervision may be required.
