Class Experience

**THIS CLASS IS NOW BEING OFFERED AS A SMALL GROUP CLASS WITH NO MORE THAT 6-8 STUDENTS**

Each session of this weekly ongoing course will feature a math game that reinforces a math skill taught in fifth grade.  We will always begin the session with a demonstration of how to do the types of problem that is used in the game.  Then we will have a brief guided practice time where we do 2 or 3 additional problems to make sure everyone understands the types of problems.  Then we will begin the...

This class is taught in English.

Students will practice various 5th grade math skills

Pencil and paper OR a whiteboard to solve problems on
Students who do not have their multiplication facts memorized may want to have a multiplication chart available
At times, I may include a printable that will help with the game, if you do not have a printer it will be something you can refer to in another window on your screen or recreate in your notebook (for example a place-value chart).

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
