This on-going class is all about cats. Each week, Rozine will instruct how to draw a cat from her coloring book, "Uh Oh, KItty". Research shows there is a significant connection between arts and achievement. Coloring and drawing develops many talents, such as: • fine motor skills • spatial reasoning • objectivity • visualization • self-discipline • creative problem-solving
Since 2005, Rozine taught cartooning classes to elementary-aged, inner-city children in Chicago and Los Angeles. She is the illustrator, author, and publisher of several all-age coloring activity books. Rozine also has several large-scale murals in Southern California and Chicago, Illinois. She creates a relaxing atmosphere, encouraging connection amongst others, as well as confident self-expression.
Students will need a sharpened pencil, an eraser and any kind of paper (printer, sketchbook, etc.). We may also need their favorite dry coloring utensils: crayons, colored pencils, markers, gel pens. Paints may work for experienced painters, but are not recommended.
Inspired by Waldorf teaching methods, Rozine encourages independent thinking and creative problem solving in the classroom. Like the title of her first book, "Live Life For A Living," Rozine is living a dream making a living doing what she loves....
