Each week students will review the one of the 8 units of AP Calculus AB. We will explore different themes in Calculus through multiple choice and past free response exam questions and discuss different test taking strategies.
Class experience
US Grade 9 - 12
This course is recommended for students currently enrolled in AP Calculus AB who plan to take the AP Exam in May 2023. We will meet through the Outschool online platform and use a collaborative whiteboard to solve problems. Practice exams will be assigned through Google classroom. In each weekly class, we will focus on a different theme of Calculus. I will use a warmup to assess prior knowledge and design the hour-long review session to build areas of understanding that need development....

I have BA in Mathematics, a BAE in Secondary Education Mathematics, an MS in Mathematics Education and have taught Calculus I at the community college level.
Homework Offered
Students will be recommended to watch review videos of specific skills on an as-needed basis. Optional practice exams will be provided prior to Week 1, after Week 4, and during Week 8.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Students should have a Graphing Calculator as recommended for the AP Exam.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
External resources will be used in a screen-share; no accounts will be necessary. Students without a calculator will be advised to use Desmos.com which does not require an account. Practice exams will be provided via a Google Form; email addresses will not be collected but first name will be asked for to match a student to their work.
