US Grade 9 - 12
This course is recommended for students currently enrolled in AP Calculus AB who plan to take the AP Exam in May 2023. We will meet through the Outschool online platform and use a collaborative whiteboard to solve problems. Practice exams will be assigned through Google classroom. In each weekly class, we will focus on a different theme of Calculus. I will use a warmup to assess prior knowledge and design the hour-long review session to build areas of understanding that need development. We will meet once per week for 8 weeks to review the 8 Units of Calculus AB through a lens of multiple choice and free-response exam questions. Students may drop-in for any lesson to practice exam-style questions. Previous attendance is not expected, however previous enrollment in a Calculus course is. Week of March 5th: Limits and Continuity Week of March 12th: Differentiation Definition and Fundamental Properties Week of March 19th: Differentiation: Composite, Implicit, and Inverse Functions Week of March 26th: Contextual Applications of Differentiation Week of April 2nd: No Class Week of April 8th: Analytical Applications of Differentiation Week of April 15th: Integration and Accumulation of Change Week of April 22nd: Differential Equations Week of April 30th: Applications of Integration No classes May 1st - May 19th Cycle will resume May 20th for Summer. Additional questions can be provided for student studying and reflection after class upon request. Students are recommended to preview the topic of the week through a series of short videos before each class. Practice assessments will be provided through Google Classroom or a Google Form.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
External resources will be used in a screen-share; no accounts will be necessary. Students without a calculator will be advised to use Desmos.com which does not require an account. Practice exams will be provided via a Google Form; email addresses will not be collected but first name will be asked for to match a student to their work.
Supply List
Students should have a Graphing Calculator as recommended for the AP Exam.
