In this ongoing course, we will explore a new film/tv side and go over audition and set terms!
Class experience
In this ongoing course, students will be introduced to Film/TV acting through mock-audition performance scenarios! Every week, students will receive a new side that they will prepare and perform in class with feedback and adjustments to gain experience in reading, processing, and executing a scene for film/tv. We will start every class with some industry terms/knowledge, opening the classroom up for discussion to clarify any questions students might have about acting for screen vs. stage and...
Students will gain a foundational understanding of acting for film/tv and become comfortable with receiving and processing a script to ultimately perform!
I have been acting in theater my entire life, before switching to screen acting around 3 years ago. I have worked in both Japan nd the US and have appeared in a couple national television programs in Japan.
A pre-assigned scene from a script will be provided 3 days before the start of class. Please have all learners print this out and bring it to class regardless of memorization level.
While I screen every side I assign for any inappropriate content, please keep in mind that many audition sides may occasionally contain more mature material when it comes to middle school roles. I will do my best to sensor any sensitive words/topics and avoid assigning extremely heavy topics, if there are any concerns in the material, please do not hesitate to reach out!
