This ongoing oboe lessons class is perfect for beginning oboe players looking for a consistent lesson weekly lesson time. Each week, we'll focus first on their school music (if any), and then move into playing oboe specific music. Topics covered will be based on the individual student's needs, however at this level that usually includes such topics as note reading, rhythms, reinforcing correct embouchure and pitch, learning new notes to increase our range, and then incorporating those into...
This class is taught in English.
At this level, students should be prepared to practice 10-20 minutes per day outside of class. While I know this may not be possible all the time, I try to develop a practice plan for each student to help them reach their goals.
Students should have a copy of the Rubank Elementary Method for Oboe. It can be found readily online, usually for under $10. If students have a different method book they're using for school, please let me know.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
