Welcome to Ongoing 1:1 Interactive Sight Word! This is an on going one to one class. I can alter this class to what you may be needing. For example: To increase letter recognition, learning sight words, building confidence in reading, or something similar. If nothing is sent before class then I will begin each class will begin by reviewing the letters and sounds of the alphabet. It is important that young readers become fluent at "reading" the letter names and sounds. If student take class more than once and are fluent with letters we will start with sight words. Students will be introduced to common beginning sight words. The students will learn sight words through a variety of fun and engaging ways.  For example, we will use whiteboards, computer slides, games, flashcards, "air writing", pencil/marker writing, and many more techniques to help your young reader get a good grasp on sight words! At the end each session, your child and I will compose very simple sentences using the sight words that we have learned that day.  If taken more than once we will review previously learned sight words from the lessons.  "Reading", "repetition" and "writing",  are essential for learning sight words.

Hi, My name is Britany. 
I just started my 8th year teaching. I love teaching students of all ages. I currently teach pre-k students with special needs who are ages 3-5. I have taught students special education Pre-k up to 12th grade in all areas. I enjoy teaching students low level math, letters, number, life skills, and more. I have also taught online ESL with three different companies for the past 4 years. 
My personal philosophy for teaching is to assist each student in every aspect of his or her educational experience and in doing so targeting his or her specific area of need. I believe in each student to be enabled to embrace every opportunity that is offered. By doing so the student will maintain a positive out look while becoming more self-reliant. 
I love making class fun while learning. I love putting together puzzles and playing with my daughter.
