One Week Math Challenge: Understanding Basic Division (Flexible Schedule)
What's included
Class Experience
US Grade 2 - 4
This class is jammed pack, hence the challenge, and will cover division using models, fact families, how multiplication helps us with division, 2 digit division by 1 digit with and without remainders. Students should have a basic knowledge of multiplication and have memorized some basic multiplication facts in order to be successful in this class. This class is full of lessons, consisting of 2-3 lessons per day, spread over the course of four days. This class was originally a 4 week class, but I have condensed it to 1 week to give families the option to move at a faster pace. (Students have access to all material for 30 days after the last scheduled day of class, so if more time is needed this is not a problem as there is a lot of material in this course). Each day a teacher created handout will be sent to students at 6:00 am EST. Access to a printer therefore is necessary to be successful in this class. Students will use the handout to follow along with the video to practice and learn the material. Independent practice will be assigned for after class and any work that needs to be graded should be submitted by that Friday via Outschool email. The lesson will focus on real world examples of division and what division is and the different ways to write a division equation. Day 2: How do multiplication and division work together? This lesson we will work on visual models to demonstrate how multiplication and division work together. Day 3: Division with no remainders. This lesson we will use models to work on division problems with no remainders. Day 4: Division with remainders. This lesson we will do division with remainders. Each day you will receive a packet of materials that will be needed to be printed before class. Therefore, you will need to access to a printer. You will also need a small handheld whiteboard as well as pencils and paper. Students have 30 days after class official ends to have access to classroom materials. Need a different start date? Let me know and I can create a section just for your child. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Debbie
