Description

Class Experience

The class is intended for students with no prior music training and less than a year of music lessons. This class begins with an introduction to the guitar and the beginning steps of reading music.    

Day 1: String names, Proper Posture and Hand Positioning, Strumming & plucking
Day 2: Introduction to music reading and study of the essential music elements
Day 3: Listening and ear training/aural development, and study of an easy fingerstyle guitar song
Day 4: Review music from the previous...

The students will learn the instrument's structure, including all guitar parts, how to hold the guitar, proper posture- hand positioning, and strumming & plucking. We will approach the basic guitar technique, such as understanding the anatomy of the instrument, proper guitar playing, various techniques, and understanding music notation adding a final performance at the end of the guitar camp.

Students are encouraged to learn the daily work at their own pace.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
