One-To-One Private Tuition in Phonics, Reading, Writing, Maths, ESL.

Please feel free to get in touch if you don't see a time and day that suits you; I have some flexibility on this.  I am also able to offer sessions that are different lengths, for example 40 minutes/55 minutes.

I am a British teacher and have been teaching children in the UK for over 25 years. both face-to-face and online.  I also teach children who need practice as they learn to speak English.  I am  friendly, smiley and positive; I want your child to be a confident learner who feels proud of what they can achieve.

I offer one-to-one ongoing sessions in phonics, reading, writing, maths and ESL.  I use plenty of encouragement and have oodles of patience. I use a range of activities, including puppets (where appropriate), real objects, games, puzzles and structured practice to engage your learner. I will take account of your child's interests too, to keep them motivated.   

Before the first class I will need to discuss what your child needs support with.  I will carry out an assessment in the first class so I can plan future sessions effectively - don't worry, this won't be scary!

Each week will then be tailored to your child's needs.  I want them to make good progress, so I structure the lessons carefully to make sure they embed what they are learning and also move on to learn new concepts. 

I am happy to teach children who speak English fluently and children who have EAL/ESL (English as an Additional Language/English as a Second Language).  I have plenty of EAL experience in the classroom and ESL experience online. I am also TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualified.
