Math tutoring for second through fifth grade learners. I recently retired from teaching elementary school math and worked thirty years in public school. I can teach new skills or reinforce those skills your learner may need additional practice in. Instruction is one to one, interactive and engaging. I plan lessons and gather resources based on your child's individual needs. Topics taught may include place value, geometry, fractions, time, money, measurement, word problems, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Topics are learner directed.

A math notebook and pencil is all that is required.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I am a retired elementary school teacher from New York State. I worked in the public school system for over thirty years and have taught grades kindergarten through fourth grade. I worked many years on our district English Language Arts committee working on curriculum as well as our S.T.E.M. committee. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
My philosophy is that children should be actively engaged in learning. In my classroom, I believed that children should have choices regarding their learning whenever possible. A multi-sensory approach worked well for my students. Learning should be fun!
I am an avid tennis player and enjoy taking fitness classes at the gym. My husband and I love fishing, boating and enjoy spending time together out on our boat.
