Class Experience
Let me help you get past an obstacle in your playing. Whether it is position, bow hold, or something else, I can help you find a solution to make playing your instrument more fun and enjoyable, Young musicians ages 8-15 with any experience (violin or viola) are invited to sign up. Please let me know before our first lesson of all prior musical knowledge and skills so I can customize goals before our first meeting. Lessons can include: proper position and posture, reading music, playing by ear, bowing techniques, playing selections from different genres, and more. Please have instrument tuned before lesson begins to optimize our time. If you have any questions, please send them my way before our first lesson. I look forward to making music together!

I teach individual, customized, viola or violin lessons. For as long as I can remember, music has been part of my life and I love sharing it with others!
I attended the University of Arizona and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education with a Minor in Psychology. I taught for 10 years as a public school orchestra teacher in Arizona. During my time in various districts, the young musicians I worked with earned Superior Ratings at state festivals. I also had the privilege to conduct the 6th Grade Honor Orchestra as part of the Southern AZ Elementary/Junior High School Honor Orchestra Festival in 2018.
I am a proponent for collaborative efforts and person-centered learning. Every person has a voice and I believe that can be best expressed through music. Learners do best when there is a sense of mutual respect, a safe space, and an interest in them as an individual.
As a performer, I enjoy playing in various small group endeavors on viola and violin, and I love playing at weddings.
When I am not making music, I enjoy hiking, traveling, going to concerts, and eating delicious food.Reviews
