Class Experience

This one time class will be an introductory class to private lessons. Students may choose to bring their method books and other material and work on it during this time to see if they enjoy working with me and that this is a good fit for future private lessons.
Topics covered will be rhythm reading, note reading, basic instrument position and fingering, technique, tone and repertoire.
The class will be structured similar to a regular private lesson: warm-up, review of old material, learning new material, sight reading, ear training and dictation (optional).
The teaching formal is a private lesson setting.
My teaching style includes relating to the student, finding out what their particular goals are for lessons and incorporating that into their lesson.
SInce this a private lesson, students will be interacting with me.
I assume that student coming to this class already have a background in some type of musical instrument and are taking this class to see if working with me is part of their signing up for private lessons.
Learning Goals
Students will learn my teaching style, philosophy and what methods and books I use in teaching.
