Description
Class Experience
In this “no experience needed” class I will walk students step by step through creating their own happy snowman and cute snow pet. This class is perfect for any new (or experienced!) artist wanting very clear and easy to follow instructions. During this class, you will learn how to create a snowman and snowcat acrylic painting on canvas. We will discuss and learn about our brushes and materials, as well as the painting techniques used to create this artwork. At the end of the 45-minute...
This class is taught in English.
My mission for all of my classes is that every learner has the opportunity to be creative. I believe creativity is so important, and I want to give students the chance to express themselves in a safe and comfortable environment. The goal is for each student in this particular class to complete an entire acrylic painting, and learn about techniques and the brushes we use during class.
I have a BA in Art - Concentration in Drawing and Painting. I have been teaching art at the professional level for the last 8 years. I love to work on painting in my free time, and I illustrate children's books!
No homework will be assigned, but if students would like more time to work on their artwork, they are always welcome to paint after class.
It is important that learners have supplies BEFORE the start of class. If you already have some supplies feel free to use what you have! You WILL need acrylic paints, brushes, and a canvas to complete this artwork! Canvas, Canvas Board, or Canvas Paper Blue Acrylic Paint Brown Acrylic Paint White Acrylic Paint Orange Acrylic Paint Green Acrylic Paint Large Square Brush Small Round Brush Paper Plate (or something to use as a paint pallet) Cup of Water Paper Towels If you would like or need to purchase new supplies, supplies can be purchased online on stores like Amazon. Most supplies can also be purchased at your local grocery or art store. Please let me know if you have any questions about supplies, I am happy to help!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Acrylic paints can be hard to get off of furniture and out of clothing. Please make sure students have a space to work that is ok to get a bit messy. I recommend wearing old clothes that you won't mind if they get a little paint on them. Acrylic does come off of hair and skin with just a little soap and water.
