Hello! Welcome to One Stroke Painting Flowers! In this class, the students will learn the one-stroke painting technique and create the petals of flowers. First, the students will learn how to load the brush with paint for one-stroke painting techniques. This means that there will be two different colors of paint on either side of the brush at once. The students will also be taught how to paint stems, leaves, and petals. In this class, I will be painting along with the students so that they can see how each part of the painting is done. The learners in the class will be encouraged to discuss their paintings, ask questions, and engage in conversation throughout class. However, if a learner does not feel comfortable speaking, they do not have to. My teaching style is very relaxed. I always strive to have my classroom be a place that students can learn comfortably at their own pace. No pressure will be placed on the students during this class. It is also important to note that your students will be able to choose any 3, or more, colors they like to create their art. One color will be used for the stems and leaves and two colors will be used for the flowers. I HIGHLY recommend that the two colors used for the flowers are high contrast colors. For example, when creating the sample piece, I used very light yellow and dark orange. Of course, the students are welcome to use any two colors they choose, but please make sure they are high contrast. Another recommendation is that the students use a small, flat brush for this artwork. The brush that I used to for the sample artwork is about the width of my finger and flat at the top. My final recommendation is that the students use paper that is smooth in texture, such as card stock. This class is intended for students with a some painting background, but ALL students are welcome! Please note that this class is intended to teach students the one stroke painting technique and provide an area to practice this technique with other learners. If they choose to only practice this technique in class, and not make the sample with the class, they are free to do so. I only wish to share this technique to further their experiences with art and spark their interest in painting. This technique can be difficult, especially for learners who have no prior painting experience. Despite this, all learners are more than welcome to join in, practice, and create with us! :)

While teaching, I have furnished multiple art commissions and murals for local businesses in my home state. I also plan to offer English, reading, game, and conversation based classes. I believe that all people can do anything that they set their mind to, and I translate this belief into my teaching style. I hope to show your students that they can do and be anything that they can imagine! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, and learning new things! I hope to see you and your learner in my classroom!
