It is very important to me as an experienced vocal coach and opera singer that every student is successful in achieving the daily objectives as well as enjoying learning about music.  It is with this mission in mind that students will continue to gain a realistic sense of confidence with their knowledge of opera singing and Bel canto vocal technique. At the end of class, we will have a review where students will be able to describe what an opera is and what type of opera Carmen is. They will be able to identify who the composer and librettist are from Carmen. Students will have coloring pages of the main characters from Carmen and will be able to describe who they are and what their voice type is as well as a synopsis of Carmen.  They will know the opera takes place in Spain and will reinforce this knowledge with a coloring sheet as well as learning cultural and musical knowledge about the country. They will be able to recognize two famous musical pieces the Habanera and the Toréador chorus as well as sing an excerpt from the Toréador chorus. Students will also have learned a fun and energetic vocal warmup.
