In this one time class, learners will be able to practice solving for one step equations by operating with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

US Grade 4 - 6
In this course, students will be given guided practice problems to solve one-step algebraic equations (with integers). Focus on key terms: variable manipulation, inverse operation, operations, equalities, equations, integers. Student's should know how to perform math operations (+, -, x, /). Students will be given immediate feedback, guided error correction, and reteaching as needed during the class. Strategies such as using inverse operations to find answers will be demonstrated as needed. Students should have a basic understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division before attending this class. Students will have access/able to write in an interactive white board that I will share a link to and I will be able to review and correct if needed (whiteboard Zoom/ whiteboard.fi). If students prefer to use pencil and paper that is also accepted instead of interactive white board website. We will start with addition and subtraction equations, then move on to multiplication and division. We will also look into how multiplication and division can be represented differently in one step equations. Badge: #academia

Supply List
I will send out link for interactive white board for students to work out steps independently. I will be able to see what they write on their end and also provide feedback. If student prefers to write on paper that is also accepted. Another option is the zoom whiteboard which students can also annotate with their own writing.
