Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
The learning goals of each tutoring session will vary, but will be provided to each learner at the onset of the session. Additionally, the learning goals and associated success criteria will be provided by Mrs. Bombard within the Outschool Classroom in a concerted effort for parent-teacher communication and continued practice for the learner.
As a mother and teacher, I have worked with a wide range of learners including gifted students, students with dyslexia, learning disabilities, resistant learners, and those learning English. I recognize that each child is different and needs a different experience. It is my goal to provide that for each learner to the best of my ability.
Additional independent practice will only be provided if requested by the parent.
All materials will be provided by the instructor.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
After four weeks of tutoring, a learning report will be provided to the family. This will illustrate activities/topics covered during tutoring and how the learner is progressing. While these will vary based upon the topics of tutoring, they can include, but are not limited to:
-reading fluency reports
-reading comprehension prognosis
-writing rubrics
-math fluency reports
-computation success rates
-metacognition prognosis
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
