Welcome to Bush Academy Little Learners!

Is your little one eager to explore the exciting world of letters, numbers, and stories? This class is perfect for children ages 4-7 who are just beginning their educational journey or looking to build confidence in foundational skills.

Together, we’ll learn:
📚 **Letters and Letter Formation** – Through fun, interactive activities, we’ll master recognizing and writing letters.
🔢 **Numbers and Counting** – Develop a solid understanding of numbers and early math concepts.
📖 **Learning to Read** – Step into the magical world of reading, starting with sight words and phonics.
✨ **Improving Reading Skills** – For readers ready to grow, we’ll focus on fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary.
🌟 **Other Early School Subjects** – Build confidence in areas like writing, basic math, and more!

With engaging lessons tailored to meet each child’s needs, your learner will build skills while having fun. My teaching experience and love for education create a supportive, welcoming environment where every child can thrive.

I suggest twice weekly tutoring sessions for about 45 minutes per session. That may seem like a long time for your little one but all of my classes, private tutoring or otherwise always keep student's attention for the full allotment of time. You would be surprised how quickly the time will go when we are in the learning groove! If you have concerns over the length, and would like to make it a 30 minute session, we can also discuss that as well.

Have any other questions? I’m here to help and can’t wait to partner with you in your child’s learning adventure! 🌈

Learning Goals

Hi everyone! My name is Ms. Norma and I am a former kindergarten teacher turned homeschooling mother. I live in Maryland with my husband and two boys, aged 7 and 10. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and a Master of Arts in Teaching Early Childhood Education from Howard University. I spent five years in the classroom, teaching kindergarten and one year in second grade. I may no longer be in a physical classroom but I have never lost my passion for teaching and learning.

I will be offering ongoing classes for learners ages 4-11 who are looking to find a place to meet others, build connection and engage in authentic, theme based learning.

It is my belief that children learn best when they feel safe, acknowledged and cared for. I feel one of my biggest strengths as an educator is my ability to build connections with the children and parents I am fortunate to work with. I look forward to working with your child to support them at the beginning of their academic journey.
