Teacher expertise and credentials
Tennessee Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Master's Degree in Education from Western Governor's University
Hi!
My name is Mrs. Leslie. I have been an Educator for 16 years. I spent my first thirteen years as a first grade teacher, and my last three years have been as a third grade English Language Arts Teacher. I am especially passionate about teaching struggling readers, and those readers and writers that just need a little boost of confidence to be successful. I received my education from Austin Peay State University where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. After teaching in the classroom for a few years, I decided that I wanted to return to school to pursue a Master's Degree. I received my Master's of Science Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University.
I serve as a Mentor Teacher at my school to assist other teachers in their classroom. In addition to this, I have led several Professional Development courses for other teachers.
My belief is that ALL students can learn and grow! If students are given explicit, intensive, high quality instruction in their area of deficit, have a good at home support system, and have an "I can" attitude, they will learn and be successful.
My hobbies include reading, traveling, spending time with my family, and two fur babies, and catching up on sleep! I look forward to teaching your child!
