Class Experience
In ongoing these one-on-one singing lessons, learners will receive tailor-made lessons focusing on breath support, pitch identification, musical expression and even an intro or continuation into music theory. Learners get to sing the music that most interests them and in addition to this, will be introduced to new genres of music they they may have never considered singing. This will help to diversify their tastes and interests. Learners will learn their music from top to bottom, from learning their notes and rhythms, to working on the musicality and understanding of the background of each piece. Prior singing experience is not necessary because each lesson will be tailored specifically to each learner based on their level of experience. Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Mrs. Brittany! Welcome to my virtual classroom! I am thrilled to have you join me.
Credentials:
Masters Degree in Vocal Performance from Northern Illinois University
Bachelors Degree in Vocal Performance from Northern Illinois University
Associate of Arts from Elgin Community College
I have over 15 years of experience working with children in many different capacities. My first experience working with kids came from babysitting as a young teen. From there, I began tutoring at the Kumon Tutoring Center. My focus there was in their Junior Kumon section working with preschoolers. I was there throughout high school. While I was getting my associates and part of my bachelors, I was a Play, Music, Preschool and Art teacher at Gymboree Play and Music. I have also taught private voice lessons on and off for the last 5 years, which included sections on music theory.
My music degrees have brought me many professional performance opportunities, but I have a great love for teaching and bringing the joy of music to the younger generation. I believe that music should be accessible for everyone and learning to appreciate it starts from a young age.
In my free time, you can find me at home with my husband, our two girls and two crazy dogs, just hanging out and enjoying our time together! I also enjoy creating videos and content for YouTube and TikTok.
