US Grade 1 - 6
Our One-on-one Mathematics class follows the Singapore Ministry of Education Standard and topics to help learners master Math at their own pace. 

Mentorhood has over 15 years teaching the Singapore approach to students internationally. Our tutors are qualified and trained to teach the bar modelling method for problem solving.

Materials will be provided before class digitally, learners are required to have a printed copy ready for class. Please message us for the whole year syllabus, you may choose the grade and topic that you would like your learner to work on. 

Teaching Method:
Learners are provided with different visual ways of looking at math with the Singapore Bar Models approach. The learning journey begins with the concrete and pictorial stages, followed by the abstract stage to enable them to learn mathematics meaningfully. This approach encourages advanced (higher-order) thinking process, communication of mathematical ideas and problem solving. 

Topics include:
Grade 1 - 2 digit numbers, addition and subtraction within 100, whole and part, comparison models, shapes and patterns, length, time, money, multiplication and division concepts

Grade 2 - Numbers within 1000, addition and subtraction within 1000, word problems, length, mass, multiplication and division, money, fractions, time, volume, picture graphs

Grade 3 - numbers within 10000, addition and subtraction within 10000, word problems, multiplication and division, money, length, mass, volume, fractions, time, bar graphs, angles, area and perimeter of squares and rectangles.

Grade 4 - numbers within 100 000, factors and multiples, LCM and HCF, multiplication and division with 2 digits, word problems, use of equations and patterns, fractions, area and perimeter, angles, parallel and perpendicular lines, decimals and calculations, symmetry

Grade 5 - numbers within 10 million, 4 operations, multiplying fractions, ratio, volume, decimals four operations, average, percentages, area of triangles, geometrical constructions, Volume

Grade 6 - four operations of fractions, ratio, percentage, negative numbers, algebra, solving equations, circles, area and perimeters, volume, pie chart, speed, angles, net

Our teachers:
We're a group of passionate educators who have Mathematics and/or Science related degrees and passed the Mentorhood Teacher Training which specialized in online teaching and the Singapore Bar Modelling method.

**Attendance & Absence Policy**
Planned Absence: Families inform us at least 24 hours before class, the class will be refunded or rescheduled. Teacher will not be paid for that refunded class.

Sick Leave: Families inform us at least 24 hours before class, the class will be refunded or rescheduled. Teacher will not be paid for that refunded class.
If 24 hours in advance is not possible, that sick leave will be taken as an emergency.

Emergency: Families inform us as soon as possible before class, the class will be refunded or rescheduled. Teacher will not be paid for that refunded class.

If your learner has not joined the meeting 10 minutes after the class’s start time, the meeting will be canceled. This is considered a missed meeting and you are not entitled to a refund.
