Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
This tutoring session helps identify what skills are lacking for your child to become a successful reader. We will assess phonological awareness, word spelling, and word reading. These skills are essential for your child to learn to read and write. I follow a science of reading approach using OG and LETRS training. Your child will then begin to learn the skills to fill the gaps and grow confidence in his/her reading.
Master of Arts in Teaching Practices-Early Childhood General and Special Education Bachelor of Arts Elementary Studies K-8 Reading Support Certified LETRS Training Over 10 years experience working with children in pre-k-3rd grade.
There is no required homework. I can offer suggestions to work on between tutoring sessions.
Students will need writing utensils. It is helpful to have a variety ready, pencil, markers, crayons, dry erase marker and board, paper, etc.
I complete assessments for our target learning areas. These are formal assessments and written narratives.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
