This is an opportunity for your learner to improve their reading, writing and comprehension skills! This is open to those all learners who may be struggling to keep up with their peers, or who are reading and writing above their level and need to be challenged further. Students will improve their reading, writing and comprehension skills and will feel prepared and confident for the upcoming school year. If desired, I can also work with students on their presentation skills (for example: out-loud reading).
Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in English Language and Literature, with a specialization in Medieval and Early Modern English from Queen's University. Currently pursuing a Masters of Teaching Degree at the University of Toronto Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.
The only homework that will be assigned will be small 'research' based assignments such as asking the student to find 10 words in the material that they do not know, and sharing the definitions with me in the following class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
