This class will vary based on the skill level of the students. Any student from beginner to more advanced may take lessons! One-on-one interaction with the instructor will ensure students will receive constant feedback on their guitar playing. Note: this is a private lesson, with a limit of ONE learner per class! For beginners, the class will run as follows: Week 1 2/1/24: Introduction to the guitar including parts of the guitar, how to hold the instrument, using a pick, and learning the first 3 notes E-F-G on the first string. Week 2 2/8/24: We will continue to work on E-F-G and apply the notes to the song "Spanish Theme." We will also introduce a starter chord, E minor. Week 3 2/15/24: We will learn another short tune using the first string, and then introduce the notes on the 2nd string, B-C-D and play some warm up exercises for these notes. Continue to work on E minor, and learn an additional chord, D 6+9 to play with the song "A Horse with No Name." Week 4 2/22/24: Continue reviewing the notes B-C-D on the second string, and combine them with the first string to start playing the song "Ode to Joy" using both strings. We will continue with "A Horse With No Name" using both chords and introduce down-up strumming. The class will also cover: -Treble clef note reading -Tablature reading -Chord strumming and rhythm playing -Popular guitar scales such as the blues and pentatonic scales, improvisation -Fingerpicking style and classical guitar -Learning popular songs of choice This is a great class to follow any of our group guitar lessons on Outschool, for students who want to continue with individualized instruction. Except for in the case of emergency, we cannot offer make up lessons for no shows. Please remember that you are not just paying for the lesson itself, but the teacher's time holding the slot open each week. Since we are holding the time especially for your learner, we are unable to give refunds or "skip" for missed lessons (unless the teacher must miss class due to an extenuating circumstance)..
