Students will learn fundamentals of playing the piano, including proper posture, hand/wrist position, music theory, sight-reading, ear training, technique, artistry, improvisation, and (if desired) composition, building upon their previous learning with each lesson.
Students will be expected to practice 30 minutes to 1 hour per day depending on their level of study, five or six days a week.
Students will need to bring their own piano books or purchase one Piano Adventures Lesson Book and one Piano Adventures Theory Book appropriate for their level (to be determined during the first lesson). They will need to have a pencil and highlighter available as well as a small notebook for keeping track of assignments.
Learner progress will be informally assessed, primarily through observation. If desired, written reports will be offered by the teacher once a month.
