During this 30 minute session, I will evaluate your child's knowledge and comfort with phonics. I use the Phonographix method of assessment and have over 20 years of experience assessing and tutoring students to be strong readers.  
If your child is not yet reading, this step is unnecessary. But for those who are, it is helpful to see where their strengths and weaknesses are, and this speeds up the learning. Information you receive will be specific: Does the child know how to segment and blend sounds, for example? Do they know the various sounds 'o' can make, or 'ey' and 'ough?' This goes for all of the letters and letter combinations.
This assessment will only look at phonics and will not address grade level.
After the evaluation, I will provide a written summary. From this, you can decide if you'd like to boost your child's skills (either on your own, or with the guidance of a tutor or teacher). I also offer tutoring to improve reading skills (phonics and comprehension).
