Class Experience

In this personalized tutoring session, your child will get standard-based grade level support in any math skill you choose.

Do they need help with homework? Do they have an upcoming quiz or test? Do they need support with math anxiety? Do they need repeated practice on a difficult skill? Do they need a challenge? This session will help build your child's confidence in math and give them the support they need to succeed.

If you would like to focus on homework help, please send a picture or file of your child's homework prior each session.

If you are unsure of which skills your child needs the most support with, I can send you a printable math diagnostic assessment. Once you sign up for your first session and return the assessment to me, I will analyze it and let you know the areas that would be most beneficial for your child to have extra practice on.

Here are a list of some skills you can ask for support with:
- Number sense
- Computation strategies
- Counting (including skip counting)
- Number lines
- Fact Fluency

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been an elementary school teacher for the past 11 years. I have taught K-2 science for one year, second grade for one year, fourth grade for one year, third grade for six years, and fourth grade for two years. I have a constructivist approach to teaching, which means that I believe that children construct their own learning with the guidance and support of a skilled teacher. What does this look like? During class, your child will be encouraged and praised for doing their best work. Students will not be told they are wrong, but instead be encouraged to explore other ways of thinking about their process to guide them to deeper understanding of concepts. Your child will receive teacher feedback, which includes encouragement and next steps.
