Class Experience
In this course we will explore the musical world together and learn many different things that the learner expresses interest in. From music theory to musical instruments and even music history, we will explore it all! We will learn at a pace that best suits the learner and have fun while we are learning. The best way to learn is to have fun. My goal is to make everything personable so that the learner can relate to the subject and want to know more. Each week we will review what we learned in the previous week and use that new knowledge to continue on with the next lesson. No prior musical experience is needed. As as private course, I prefer to make it a very relaxed environment and be able to have great conversations with the learner. It will be beneficial for the learner to have music staff paper. They sell books of them or pages can be printed out online. As we learn music theory we will write out notes, chords, key signatures, and more on the staff paper. There are so many different types of instruments that we will spend some time going over to get a better understanding of how music can be interpreted. We will learn about woodwinds, brass, strings, and percussion instrument classes. There are many different eras when it comes to music that we will explore as well. Many famous composers, such as Beethoven and Mozart, have greatly contributed to the musical world so we will introduce them in this course. This will be a very rewarding private course for both the learner and myself as a teacher. I look forward to sharing my knowledge of music over the next several weeks.

Hello! My name is Megan Lanter and I live in Georgia in the United States with my husband, three year old daughter, and giant dog named Rex! I have worked with children of all ages for many years and it is always a blast to interact with the younger generation. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concord University in West Virginia.
I love to play the piano and I have been for twenty years! I also play the flute and love music history. I offer intro to reading music classes, piano and flute lessons, and if you need help with your music classes at school we can do one-on-one tutoring classes.
I hope to see you in one of my classes soon!
