One-On-One: Literacy School Readiness (Ages 7-14)
Each tutoring session will include word work, vocabulary and comprehension practice in the student's upcoming standards. A focus on morphology and word study will be emphasized as well as critical reading analysis.

Welcome! I am excited to build student confidence for the upcoming school year! A little about my background and experience: -Elementary and middle school teacher of 21 years! -National Board Certified in Early Adolescence ELA -Gifted Certification -Montessori Experience -Reading Specialist Credential in progress Here are all the ways that I can help you prep for a successful school year: -Word Structure such as prefixes and suffixes and inferring meaning -Before, during, and after reading strategies for comprehension -Test taking Skills -Novels -Text Structure -Annotation Skills -Monitoring Comprehension -Learning to self-select the most efficient reading strategies for the situation -Literary Elements My Teaching Style: -Approachable and down-to-earth -Humor -Encouraging and interactive Learners should feel free to ask questions and provide feedback and otherwise make the session tailored to their needs. We will often end with a game or review in order to revisit prior lessons and understandings. Extensions provided beyond the tutoring sessions if desired. Learning Needs
Each student's instruction will be tailored to their particular needs. As a teacher for 22 years, I have tailored lessons for students with ASD, ADHD, and I am able to support students whose native language is not English.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
