Are you interested in improving your calligraphy and prefer one on one teacher interaction, outside of a group setting? My one-on-one tutoring class is perfect for you! In this class, students will have the opportunity to receive specialized, unique to you feedback to improve their calligraphy and hand lettering. I can provide tutoring in a structured, curriculum-based format, or in an informal context where students can share specific areas they would like to learn in a conversation-based...
This class is taught in English.
Students will be taken through the fundamentals of calligraphy in a laid-back relational format. I will address any specific needs students may have, and provide helpful and encouraging specialized feedback. If students have a specific calligraphy project they would like to complete (addressing envelopes, bullet journaling, quotes, wall art, etc), I am happy to help. I am also able to provide projects to complete if students are interested.
I have been a professional calligrapher since 2015, and have taught hundreds of calligraphy students! I have been teaching students since 2016, and tutoring calligraphy since 2019! I absolutely love teaching and personally prefer the one-on-one format, which I find is best suited for this sort of skill. I am proficient in the various calligraphy techniques such as faux calligraphy, brush lettering, dip pen calligraphy, and more!
Homework will be given on an as-needed or as-requested basis. I am happy to assign students a specific project to complete if requested. I will also provide all students with free printable worksheets to help students improve on their specific calligraphy needs.
1 file available upon enrollmentStudents will need: Pens, pencils, paper, a ruler, coloring utensils (of any kind), and access to a printer. Students may need: Large/small brush pens, dip calligraphy pens, dip pen ink, nibs, gel pens, and specific paper for brush pens. A recommended supply list will be given upon enrollment. All utensils can be found at various price points and are inexpensive.
Assessment will be given in an informal and relationally based manner.
45 minutes per class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
