Description
Class Experience
Steve Housewright has been teaching guitar and ukulele for 25 years. He has taught privately, in music stores, in afterschool programs, in schools, libraries, and online. He has been the director of the music education nonprofits, Strings Attached and the Sir Charles Blues Lab, and supported by many major music education foundations over the past two decades. He is also a Teaching Artist Fellow with the Jubilation Foundation and Tides Foundation.
Younger kids ages 5 to 8: Guitar Class uses the “Guitar for Kids: Method and Songbook” by Bob Morris and Jeff Schroedl. Continuing students are encouraged to own their own copy of the book (with audio access) for practice at home. Published by Hal Leonard Publishing. Digital and hard copies are available. Ages 8 to 18: Guitar Class uses the “Guitar Method Complete Edition” by Will Schmid and Greg Koch. Continuing students are encouraged to own their own copy of the book (with audio access) for practice at home. Published by Hal Leonard Publishing. Digital and hard copies are available.
