US Grade Preschool - 1
When we are young children, we learn our first language by listening, speaking, and doing. We laugh, sing, draw, and play, all while learning our first language. The same methods can be used to learn a second language as well! In my ESL classes, students have fun and create lasting knowledge at the same time. Parents from all over the world are enrolling their children in ESL classes, because they recognize the value of being able to communicate in a language that is used across the globe. It is especially important for children to start learning a language at a young age when their minds are the most receptive! That's why I have created this immersive English course for our littlest learners. In 2016, I received an Advanced Certificate in TESOL from The Canadian Institute of English and Applied Neuroscience. Since then, I have helped both children and adults from all over the world to write, read, and speak English. Along with being an ESL teacher, I am also an art teacher, so I bring creativity into all of my classes. This class meets twice a week for 35 minutes, because shorter, more frequent learning sessions are much more beneficial for language retention. Here is an example of what can be covered in these classes: Week of March 13th: Sing and color the alphabet! Week of March 20th: Greetings! What's your name? How are you? Week of March 27th: Numbers and Animals- How many are there? Week of April 3rd: Colors- Let's Paint! Week of April 10th: Action verbs- Let's move around! I am looking forward to seeing your little learner in my class! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Learning Goals
Students will become familiar with speaking and understanding the English language. They will also learn how to write and read basic letters and numbers.

I am a professional artist, specializing in oil portrait paintings, and I have had the privilege of displaying my artwork in venues across the country. I believe that art is about self expression and learning, and I hope to create a fun, interactive environment where students can develop a love for art while building their confidence in a new skill.
I have always struggled with expecting “perfection” of myself, especially in my art, so I am constantly reminding my students, as well as myself, that perfection is not required, and that practice, not unreasonable expectations, is what a advances our skills.
My joy in teaching comes from the comments of my students and their parents, expressing that they created something they didn’t know was possible.
