Homework
1-2 hours per week. Practice helps build strong reading skills! After each lesson, 1st grade level & below will receive a packet with a word list, activities, sentence strips, & a decodable passage focused on the learned phonogram. Older students will receive a reading passage. As needed, students will also get phonogram flashcards & phonological awareness activities. 📖 Why is this important? Repetition strengthens the brain’s ability to recognize words quickly, leading to smoother, more confident reading. 🏡 How Parents Can Help: ✅ Use flashcards to reinforce new and previous phonograms. ✅ Highlight the new phonogram in the reading passage. ✅ Take turns reading paragraphs together. ✅ Celebrate progress and keep practice stress-free! ⏳ Suggested Daily Practice Time: PreK–K: 5–10 minutes 1st Grade: 15–20 minutes 2nd Grade: 20–30 minutes 3rd+ Grade: 30–45 minutes (Mix phonogram passage, independent reading, and listening to a read-aloud.) Your support at home is key to your child’s reading success.
Assessment
Supporting Your Child’s Reading Growth Assessments are optional but highly recommended to help track progress and set personalized goals. If needed, I’ll conduct a short, informal reading assessment during the first session to understand your child’s strengths and areas for growth. Throughout the course, I may also use quick check-ins to ensure steady progress toward reading goals. These assessments are designed to be low-pressure and encouraging, giving us valuable insights to support your child’s success. If you ever have questions about their progress, I’m happy to share feedback!
Progress Report
Upon request, for students that meet with me twice or more a week, I will give a monthly progress report.

Learning Needs
I have experience working with ADHD, Dyslexia, ASD, 504 plans, IEPs, and ESL learners. I use short, multi-sensory activities, 30-minute sessions, and break concepts into small, manageable steps for success.
Supply List
A headset with microphone or a standalone microphone is highly recommended to help me help your child clearly pronounce the sounds that letter makes. When saying sounds in isolation many built in microphones aren't sensitive enough to pick up single sounds.

Black Dry Erase Marker
Eraser, Sock or Felt to use as Eraser

Older students may use the above or Zoom's annotation tool.

Sources
I use my own material as well as materials created by other special education, reading and dyslexia specialists that I have permission to share with my students. This way you only have to pay for printing the materials, or you can choose to view them online if you prefer.
