Class Experience

In this class, we will discuss the different types of editing, as well as break down exactly how developmental editing benefits every story. Different types of story structures will be discussed and students will decide which style works best for them. That story structure will then be utilized to help break down and develop the story written by the student.

What is missing? Are there any plot holes?
Does the setup for the story make sense with the ending?
Are the characters fully fleshed out with their own arcs and motivations?
Does the conflict make sense? Is strong and complex enough?
How do writers make stories work?
What are dialogue tags and how are they used to help a story?
What is a scene card and how do I use one?
What needs to be in every scene?
How do I know when my book is finished?

Students will have one-on-one attention to ensure their story and ideas stay their own. Students will be presented with different forms of writing resources so that they can find the ones that fit their needs best.
