Class Experience

Update! Due to high parent requests, this class will now include both reading and math skills, or you can specify for just one subject. Sessions can be created to accommodate classwork or virtual work in current classes or I can develop the specific curriculum according to need!

Each student will be given a quick skills assessment at the beginning of the first tutoring session to determine the key skills needed to be addressed. If parents would like, they can provide assessments or school goal sheets prior to class to also be considered in the lesson design. Printables will then be created for each student according to needs for not only the tutoring session but for practice skills afterwards. Depending on the results, lessons will be customized for each learner. Diverse learners that need accommodations or specific teaching styles can be accommodated. Lessons will be given through the use of Google slides, printables, interactive slides, short video snippets for modeling, and discussion around problems. I typically use a direct teaching approach which assists with attention concerns and helps build automaticity with skill development.
