Description
Class Experience
*This class is by request only* Please message me if you are interested. This class is meant to give tools to students who are struggling with stress. I decided to begin offering one-on-one sessions because parents have been asking for more individualized coping skills. Everyone's stress manifests in different ways, and sometimes kids need a little extra coaching with some coping tools. First off, I want to validate that it can be hard to see your child going through stress, but the fact...
Students will learn coping tools to help with stress
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Elementary School Social Worker. I have a Master's Degree in Social Work and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker license, along with a School Social Worker License. I have been teaching children about mental health, mindfulness, coping tools, and emotions for over four years. I have experience teaching kids and teens about mental health in person in a public school setting, and online through Outschool. I love helping people feel empowered to learn ways to manage their emotions!
There is no homework for this class, however, I do encourage students to practice and implement the coping tools into their life, and teach their families what they have learned.
Students are welcome to take notes if needed, but it is not required. Occasionally, you might need a blank piece of paper and something to color with, but I will always let you know when.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Occasionally, I will use different coping tools from different workbooks. Parents are welcome to do the workbooks with their children as an additional resource if desired, but it is not required. Workbooks: What to Do When You Worry Too Much: A Kid's Guide to Overcoming Anxiety by Dawn Huebner What to Do When Mistakes Make You Quake: A Kid's Guide to Overcoming Perfectionism by Claire A.B.
