Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
This is a weekly one-on-one SAT/ACT math tutoring session covering the test structure, math concepts, and test-taking tips to optimize your approach to the test and maximize your score. Each session is focused on tackling and reviewing a subset of questions from practice exams, and then focusing on any strategies or math concepts that you need work on. I mainly use material directly from Collegeboard and the ACT so that what you practice is the same as what you can expect on the actual test. I also have personal practice tests closely based off of the official material for extra practice. I provide question explanations and feedback in as many ways as possible to make to sure that you have a solid grasp of solutions before moving on.

We will cover the arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics needed to answer the questions on the test. I will also teach you how to make the most of Desmos and/or your graphing calculator of choice. I will also go over the various test strategies to save time on questions and have proper pacing for the test.

The hour-long session will be interactive. We will be talking throughout the session, flowing between lecture-based instruction, guided practice, and independent practice with immediate feedback. I highly encourage students to ask questions and I will ask for your thought-process for answering questions. I want to make sure that you're not just getting the one answer correct, but that you understand the process so you can answer any similar question in the future. We will be practicing and reviewing questions on a digital whiteboard for any questions you bring in or any that I assign based off of your scores.

I provide regular assignments for after the session, as individual practice outside of tutoring is an integral part to improving your score.
