This one time class will teach students which five letters are vowels and why vowels are so important. They will learn that every word has a least one vowel. They will learn the long and short sounds for each vowel. Students will learn to find vowels in words. They will find and read words that begin with the long and short sounds of each vowel and practice making the sounds as they say the words. Students will have fun and sing as they become familiar with the five vowels in the alphabet. They will learn the long and short sounds of each vowel. Learners will practice using these sounds while reading words begin with these letters. Students will gain many pre-reading skills from this class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
