ONLY 3 students max per class. We will first go over some basics of color blending with the oil pastels and then loosely sketch out dog face of their choice. Either a picture of their own dog or a picture is suggested to reference from. PLEASE SEND ME A COPY OF DOG PICTURE AND MAKE SURE STUDENT HAS A COPY FOR REFERENCE ALSO FOR THEM IN CLASS. This class is NOT intended for technical drawing of the dog and it’s form. Rather Illustrative style. ( I do teach technical classes privately for animals) Demos will be shown. We will talk about colors needed to make their specific dog face. My classes are fun and relaxing. I do ask we respect others as they are talking and to take turns. Students can interact with me at anytime and ask questions. No experience needed. Great beginner class. • First Day- Intro on oil pastels and blending. We will do some test blending of dog hair colors to get the color of the students dogs hair and texture. Then, we will sketch out our dogs in pencil VERY LOOSELY. • Second Class- Demos and questions. We will start to add learned techniques to our dog drawing from first day. • Third Class- Draw a new dog or make a new version of your dog. AND / OR Make a custom dog bowl drawing for your dog. Whimsy fun exploring more fun colors for a more whimsy look.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello Parents and Students!
I keep my classes small so students can get more attention at their pace and I feel this is something very important in education.
My name is Mrs. Carrie and I'm all about ART, all in FUN LEARNING or TECHNICAL LEARNING. Going to diverse art schools and taking side programs was the best thing I did, because I can now share the passion with students.
My education is diverse with a BFA in Graphic Design- Illustration Communications Arts and Photography Minor, finishing at Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. After college, I worked for Ad Agencies, Printers, Galleries in Wisconsin. This all brought balance to what I can share and teach.
I will be teaching: Drawing Skills, Acrylic, Watercolor Painting, Colored Pencils, Color Theory and Art Mentoring via Private Classes.
Art/Design is about breaking down drawing into shapes to help your child see the basic building process for creating their art. This is the key to any art at any age.
I have 30 YRS of teaching experience for all ages including, public schools and community programs, business and mostly private teaching. I work with Spectrum and Trauma students which is most rewarding.
My goal in a classroom: To break the "intimidation" of the arts. I sadly see fear in all ages with art, and I stress there are NO RULES FOR ART and to HAVE FUN, learn the materials what they do and don't. Learn what you like about them and you don't. BUILD CONFIDENCE. There is ALWAYS time later to get technical. But, first relax learn the the basic principles and create your art and your unique style. Art is NOT to be cookie cutter. Seeing a child bloom and build confident in art class WILL overall build personal confidence in them.
I'm left handed with some dyslexia, so I can laugh at myself and have fun in classrooms or settings. It really creates a bond with students to help make them feel comfortable and that they're not alone with learning disabilities.
I look forward to meeting you in class.
