Class Experience
Students will learn signs for cities, states and countries as well as signs like "home", "school", "museum", "library" etc. No experience in sign language is required. We will start with an icebreaker where we each tell one thing that happened today and we all learn a sign associated with each person's story. The class structure will go as follows: 1. Icebreaker (10 min) 2. Instruction (25 min) 3. Group discussion- signing about the places we go (10 min) 4. Wrap up- review and each student...
After this class, students will be able to form several complete sentences in sign language about where they live and go, such as "I live in..." and "I like going to...".
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
