This class features a complete series that teaches students to read CVC (consonant vowel consonant) words in each vowel group over 5 weeks. In this series, we will focus on reviewing letter sounds and blending them to read and write CVC words. We will also learn a few sight words and read simple complete sentences together. ποΈ BUILD SANDCASTLE WORDS - Students will play an interactive sandcastle game to sound out and spell CVC words. This part of class is really *special* because students discover they can read! π§ββοΈ MERMAID FUN - Each week, students will help mermaid friends search for the CVC words they have learned that are hiding under the sea. π§βπ« SOCIAL SKILLS - We will go over what we learned and discussed in class, chat about fun topics, or share a toy. β’ Reading CVC words is a foundational early reading skill and it sets students up to successfully decode larger words. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Phonics Beginner Alphabet Letter Sounds Tracing Games Blending Literacy Reading Spelling Disney Ocean Mermaid Beach
