Does your student have a love for life under the sea? Then this is the class for them! In this course students will learn about the life they can safely observe and see in tide pools along the west coast of the united states. Students will learn how to explore the beach and tide pools, what amazing animals live there, and how to safely observe and interact with them. If your child is getting ready for a trip to the beach, or just loves learning about ocean life, this is a great opportunity to learn more and share their passion with others.
Learning Goals
Students will be introduced to different classification and terminology related to sea life, the roles different creatures play in their environment, and how to interact with them safely.

Activity sheets and reference pages will be shared before class. Students should have coloring supplies and something to write with.

Hello families!
My name is Tawnie and I have been working with children for over 20 years, and homeschooling for over 5 years. I'm finishing my teaching credential at Sacramento State University in California, focusing on child development and education. I have a background teaching dance to children (and their parents too) and working in a variety of classroom settings. I was also a math tutor for a few years before I switched my major from mathematics to education.
I love nature and all things in it, from furry friends, creepy crawlies, to the ones that are larger than life. Growing up on a farm, I have a passion for all animals and the outdoors. When not outside, I like to spend my time creating by making jewelry, working on craft projects, dancing. I also enjoy playing video games.
I believe that children learn best when they are active, feel inspired to wonder, and safe to ask questions. My hope is to be able to offer students an opportunity to learn new things, build up their skills, and inspire them to want to learn more from the comfort of their home. Reviews
